Did you lose access to your registered JAMB email or phone number? In this post, we explain how to change your JAMB email address and phone number and how to recover your lost MTN, Airtel, and Glo SIM card.

Lost JAMB Email Address and Phone Number

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has eased restrictions on SIM and email changes.

Candidates can now update or change their registered GSM number and email address on the JAMB CAPS portal before and after UTME registration.

In other words, all UTME and Direct Entry (DE) candidates can now update their old JAMB email and phone number with new ones.

This option is for candidates who have lost access to their registered JAMB SIM card or email account.

The portal for JAMB email and phone number correction will open on 21st September 2026.

Requirements

To be eligible for JAMB change of email and phone number, you must meet the following requirements:

1. You must have a new SIM card and email address
2. You must have a duly executed Court Affidavit declaring that you lost your JAMB email or SIM, scanned and ready for upload
3. You must have at least N5,000 for this service

How to Change JAMB Email Address and Phone Number 2026/2027

Here is how to update your old JAMB email address and phone number to a new one:

1. Go to JAMB e-facility portal using your existing JAMB registration number or profile code
2. Select ”SIM Swap/eMail Change Payment” and pay the prescribed fee
3. Proceed to a designated JAMB CBT centre and access the Sim Swap/eMail change quicklink
4. Enter your profile code and the new Phone number and select “Fetch my Details“
5. Complete your biometric verification
6. Select the service: GSM only, Email only, or Both
7. Enter your new phone number and/or email address and upload your scanned Court Affidavit
8. Click on “Update” to complete the process
9. Once you are done updating, a confirmation message will appear if the update is successful.

Please note that requests must be processed only at designated JAMB CBT (PTC/PRC) centres, including State Offices where applicable.
