WAEC 2026 results is out, and sadly, this year recorded one of the highest failure rates in English Language and Mathematics.

What to Do If You Have D7 E8 or F9 in WAEC 2026

  • In WAEC grading system 2026, an E8 or D7 is a Pass grade.
  • F9 is considered a fail grade

E8D7 and F9 are below the 2026 minimum requirements for admission into any Nigerian universitypolytechnic, or college of education.

Credit passes (C6 and above) in Mathematics and English Language are compulsory for most courses and institutions.

What to Do If You Have D7, E8 or F9 in WAEC 2026

Here are three possible solutions:

  1. Combine your WAEC 2026 result with NECO 2026 or any previous WAEC/NECO/NABTEB where you had a credit in the subject you’re missing.
  2. You can register for the second series of WAEC GCE 2026 or NECO GCE to rewrite the subject (s) and earn the required credits.
  3. If your institution accepts it, write to your school requesting to use an awaiting result, then supply the result once you pass the subject in the next sitting.

1.         A1 in WAEC means Excellent
2.         B2 in WAEC means Very Good
3.         B3 in WAEC means Good
4.         C4 in WAEC means Credit
5.         C5 in WAEC means Credit
6.         C6 in WAEC  means Credit
7.         D7 in WAEC means Pass
8.         E8 in WAEC means Pass
9.         F9 in WAEC means Fail
10.     ABS in WAEC means Absent

1.         A1 75% – 100%
2.         B2 70% – 74%
3.         B3 65%- 69%
4.         C4 60% – 64%
5.         C5 55% – 59%
6.         C6 50% – 54%
7.         D7 45% – 49%
8.         E8 40% – 45%
9.         F9 0% – 44%

  1. So a student that had 284 in JAMB
    Had A,B’s and C but unfortunately got E in Maths in WAEC and is considering Law at UNN is he/she automatically disqualified ?
    The NECO results are not out yet but she is not sure UNN will wait till that time what is the student to do
